Pins & Needles Hedgehogs Policies

We require a $50 deposit to reserve our hedgehogs. NO EXCEPTIONS. ALL deposits are non refundable.  Please be certain that you want to purchase a hedgehog prior to sending us a deposit. Once we receive a deposit we will reserve that particular hedgehog for you. If you should change your mind the deposit is non-refundable as we will have to now find a new home for the baby that was reserved for you. The $50 deposit is deducted from the overall cost of the hedgehog. 
 
Visiting us
WE DO NOT ALLOW VISITORS. YOU MUST PLACE A DEPOSIT BEFORE COMING TO PINS & NEEDLES HEDGEHOGS. 
We are a business operating out of our home. For the safety, health, and well being of our hedgehogs and other pets, we ask that you please place a deposit on a hoglet before scheduling a pickup date and time. A deposit means that you are seriously interested in adopting a hedgehog and all deposits are deducted from the overall cost of the hedgehog.

You must be at least 18 years old to adopt from us, or have permission from a parent/gaurdian

Our hedgehogs are sold as pets only
We work extremely hard to provide you with a healthy, happy pet that has been loved and spoiled in a clean environment. We take breeding very seriously and have spent hours researching information about hedgehogs and their lineages and backgrounds. Our breeding stock has come from various reputable breeders across the United States! We ask that you also respect our breeding practices, and do not buy our hedgehogs for breeding purposes without our permission. Upon pickup, you will be required to sign a contract stating you adopted your hedgehog as a pet only. Any violation of this agreement will result in legal action. Although all of our hedgehogs are pedigreed, we DO NOT share pedigrees unless you are given breeding permission and are USDA licensed.

Returns/Refunds

• Please make sure you research these amazing animal's care needs before adopting one. We are happy to answer any questions you may have before adopting your hedgehog and during its entire lifetime. 
• We do not give full refunds on hedgehogs. HALF of the purchase price will be refunded if the animal is returned to us within ONE WEEK of adoption.  If the hedgehog is returned to us after one week, we do NOT OFFER any type of refund.
•  If you do find that you need to rehome your hedgehog, we ask that you contact us first! It is extremely stressful for a hedgehog to live in our home, and have to adjust to several new homes. We also do not want hedgehogs to end up being set free or placed in an animal shelter.

Hedgehogs marked with a specific color
​Sometimes we have babies in the same litter that are almost identical. In order for us to tell them apart, we sometimes use Piggy Paint (nontoxic nail polish) or nontoxic paint. This paint will either wash off or the hedgehog will shed the colored quills. Unfortunately they are not born with colorful quills and we have yet to produce a blue hedgehog like Sonic ;)
